Why we exist

The same forty books circulate endlessly while thousands of extraordinary ones sit one shelf over, unread. Double Dutch is a compass pointed at that other shelf — a room for the books worth finding.

Questions

The short version

What is Double Dutch Publishing?

Double Dutch is an independent press and reading room devoted to overlooked and fascinating books — deep cuts from indie presses, surfaced by hand and by The Underread, our AI reading-room clerk.

What is The Underread?

The Underread is our reading-room clerk. Tell it a book or author you love, or describe the kind of book you want, and it recommends genuine matches from a curated corpus of overlooked, indie-press titles. It never invents a book.

Does Double Dutch only publish its own titles?

No. We publish a small list of our own, and we curate and champion overlooked books from independent presses worldwide. The reading room is the heart of what we do.

How can I get recommendations by email?

Join the reading room and we send one overlooked book to your inbox each week, plus a free starter guide of twelve titles to read before everyone else.
